interesting though, in our univerity campus before, there were no traffic lights. drivers and pedestrians freely gave way to each other. the old timers in campus said the traffic light eroded the road users' "giving" nature... they say things became worse with the coming of the traffic lights...

That is a really crisp photo of the traffic light.
Sometimes a 4-way stop sign is more orderly (in my opinion), than a traffic light, though.
