Weekend SnapShot #42

Weekend SnapShot

F1 Singapore
With F1 first ever night race held in Singapore this weekend.
Basically, unless you've got tickets to the event. You're pretty much stuck at home or elsewhere watching the event from a screen. 4 digits for the grandstand tickets! An avid fan of the Formula 1 but forking out 4 digits for a 3 day event is way beneath my means.
F.Alonso of Renault CHEQUERED FLAG in Singapore F1 GP
It has been an extremely eventful Race Day of the first ever night race and street race in Formula 1 history.
Safety car deployed twice, with 4 stops(Kimi, Sutil, Barrichello & Piquet) and 2 retired (Trulli & Webber). Massa, Kubica and Rosberg were investigated and penalised.
Massa's performance was actually a nightmare at the street race and leaving the pit-stop with the fuel hose still in his car.
So eventful I can't even put to words here. Definitely a dramatic race.
~|~

It has been a nitemare the past 4 days!! Something screwed up on my previous template (the white one). I changed the template and spent 4 days tweaking and trying to get it looking like this current one. I practically had a nightmare with all the xml/html codes swirling around my brain! ZZzzz
Do you prefer the old white template or this current template?
*Update* Most preferred the white template due to eye strains from the black.
I've change the body background to white leaving my new black header on top.
Is it better now?

Together with The Man here is the other woman in his life....
Snapping this picture from behind, they look like a couple. It's my daughter :P
This weekend, The Man celebrates his birthday.
Here's wishing him a Happy Happy Birthday apologising for spending too much of the weekend working on the template and hogging the TV for the practise, qualifying and race of F1 :X

Simulating in Progress
With hardly the chance to ever sit inside a Formula 1 car.
There's always car racing stimulators around to ease the cravings for the thrill!!

Singapore's all set for the first ever night race for Formula 1, Singapore GP next weekend.
Aside from the Formula 1 race.
The Aston Martin Asia Cup, Formula BMW Pacific, and Porsche Carrera Cup Asia
will also be zooming on the same circuits during next weekend.
Sounds like lots of action will be in town.

Formula1 Petronas Malaysia Race Results
Driver - Kimi Raikkonen
Team - Ferarri
22 cars at start, 17 finish.
Raikkonen is back on track since his disappointing race in Australia last week.
With only 3 points behind Hamiliton. *jumps.in.joy*
Hamiliton's first pit stop was timed 19.9 *speechless*
Massa gave me another shock during lap 31 when he spun off and got beached in the gravel. Unexpected early retirement for the Ferarri team. Raikkonen's performance was smooth today as compared to last week's Australian GP.
Eyes were glued on Raikkonen and Kubica after Massa exit. Teams also worth noticing this season, BMW Sauber & RedBull.

On the way to the kids paternal grandparents house, we brought the kids to view wild monkeys at
- Lower Peirce Reservoir.
Nice stretch of road leading to the water catchment reserve with lots of monkeys on the road, as if they were on display. We stayed in the car. The kids took turns popping their head out from the sun roof spotting some monkeys on the tree branches playing. The monkeys came forward expecting food handouts, but there were signs all along the side of the road.
Well, the monkeys can feed themselves with all the wild fruits and berries in the forest they're residing in. Plus! I'm not taking the risk of burning a hole in my pocket with $500 to break the law. Many times while I wind down the window trying to catch a few snap shots, I freaked out in fear of those monkeys jumping in!

Kind and friendly eastcoastlife informed me there was a 24hr exhibit at the Asian Civilization Museum, Singapore yesterday evening. It's the Nalanda Trail on Buddhism.
We headed there after dinner. The place packed! Cameras were not allowed in there, so no pictures of the exhibits were taken. Was planning on joining the guided tour but gave up when we saw the crowd and the less than audible voice of the guide lady. We ventured around the museum on our own taking our own sweet time.
We felt a sign of relief when we saw the long Q-up at the entrance of the Nalanda Trail. Thank goodness, we had already deposited our bags on the first floor. If not, it's Q-up time for eternity.
Beside viewing the exhibits of the Nalanda Trail we also viewed lots of exhibits of South East Asia back in historic times. The kids were blown away at how life was back in the olden days. Great outing to the museum. Thanks once again eastcoastlife Muaks!!!

There's a noticeable number of times, viewer(s) using my Mr.Linky without commenting.
NOT
cool in my opinion...

My APAD #11 | other WSS entry & WW(Sun) Another picture I've taken of Cookie. It's forever in that position and one of the easiest dog to photograph. Cookie has got an artificial eye. Can you spot which eye?

First Race of 2008 Grand Prix! Of course I was glued to the television.
Lewis Hamilton lead and ended the race first.
It was a dramatic race with lots of hiccups!
Felipe Massa and world champion Kimi Raikkonen
exited the Australian race prematurely with engine trouble...ZzZzz
But I'm happy that the Grandprix season has finally started!!

We played with fake snow today at SnowCity, Singapore.
The kids enjoyed it. My daughter got herself a bruise on the forehead
when she blindly walked into a ice sculpture. *Doh*

After the fake snow play session, this was the outcome of my jeans.
The bottom of my jeans were frozen!
Our butts felt frozen after a couple of rubber tube rides.

Life size Formula 1 Chocolate Car.
Made from 2000kg of Chocolate!
Entire car including the red parts are made from chocolates.
That is one chocolate I'll want to munch on!!!!

As much as I'll love to have a bite of that formula one chocolate car. My throat is killing me! I'm coughing like hell and of all the common illness. Cough is what I hate most. I take forever and yes I mean F.O.R.E.V.E.R to cure cough. I'm allergic to cough mixture, leaving only 1 or 2 kinds of cough tablets to deal with it. Cough tablets are known for their not so fast effective cures. Which leaves me coughing like someone who has got TB and makes everyone jump away from me! Not forgetting the sleepless nights I've got to endure and the crankiness in me due to the insufficient sleep!
Any souls out here with any home remedy for coughs?

Singapore Newest Bet

I just found out that there's any reason why GP 2008 season will be even more exciting for Singaporeans!! Most Singaporeans are aware of 4D,ToTo,Big Sweep, Soccer Bets. Here's a new edition - Singapore Pools Motor Racing!!!!! *Another reason, for anti-gamblers to curse*

So I read from their website. There's 11 confirmed types of motor bets and another 6 unconfirmed types of motor betting.
I've always enjoyed the Grand Prix and self predicting the championship winner.
This whole new motor racing betting system seems exciting.
I should have expected it somehow, if there's a way to make money. Our Government would definitely have a slice of it's profit cake!
There are illegal bookies for soccer,4D,Toto bets! I wonder if there will be illegal bookie dealing with Motor Racing bets?!?!?! But that's the police department's worry I guess.

As for me, just like the occasion try in luck on 4D, I'll have a try at the Motor Racing bets......it's LEGAL!

For more information on it. Read here.

I can't wait for the Melbourne Grand Prix next month. My spirits getting high.

Striking the days off my calendar faithfully :P

Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix 2008

If you're booking tickets, kindly buy me 1 ticket too!!! :P

Today I will not make the same mistake of reporting to work and finding out there's no work like last week. I called and confirmed that there IS lessons today. I will kick my own butt if I ever made the same mistake again! But I'm kinda in lazy mode today for work, especially when I'm having my M currently. What a drag!! Plus the journey there.... Can I call in sick later? *evil.grin*

Formula 1 Grand Prix FEVER!
This year is pretty exciting for me or rather all Singaporeans. The first ever GP will be held here in Singapore in September!! On top of that, it's also gonna be the first night race in GP history!!! Singapore Grand Prix 2008. Not forgetting it's also the first street race and running anti-clockwise.

But.... what's NOT exciting about it (to me) is the price of the tickets, I want to scream!!! Grandstand Pit tickets are priced at SGD$1388(USD$928 estimate)!
Any kind soul wanna treat me? LOL!

Singapore GP can wait still. I simply can't wait for the season to start next month in Melbourne. The past few months were dreadful for me, no GP to watch + R's matter. I'm as excited as a kid with a handful of chocolates!

I think my GP fever temperature is soaring high!

Kimi Raikkonen The Champion 2007

Fall of the Rookie

It appeared a nightmare for Lewis Hamilton yesterday having to lose championship to Kimi Raikkonen.

Passed by, by Kimi Raikkonen first and followed by Fernando Alonso. It set him back to the 8th place. Zzzz. As if that wasn't enough, during the 8th lap his gearbox was faulty losing 40seconds to pitstop. Leaving him probably sniffing home in the 7th place. It was a extremely good season for Hamilton considering him a rookie only in his first year of Formula One. He is currently just 1 point behind Raikkonen. Sad case.

That's the finale of Formula One GrandPix 2007.
2008 will be another exciting year with F1 coming to Singapore in Sept'08. As much as I'll love to witness it 'Live'. I can actually foresee the sea of people all over the Padang, Cityhall, Esplanade. Not to mention the skyrock charges for a room in the nearby vicinity. But then again, given a room for free I wouldn't mind. But then, the noise will be kinda block out for the room's window. Zzzz. Not shiok!

Weekends without having GP to look forward too seems.... DANG! Boring!!!!
This weekend I'll definitely be VEry occupied with my DD year end examinations.Another major ZzzZzzzz

We celebrated Han Yin's Full Month yesterday over at mil's house. Most relatives came and the house was packed.... packed with FOOD!!! till we stil had the left-overs during dinner just now.
Elder people surely have failing eyes, I was mistaken for my sil's younger daughter while standing next to her! The look on my sil's face - PRICELESS!!!

One of our cousin's wife actually told her 5mth old son to greet me "jiejie". By right, I should be pleased with that remark, it means to her I'm still young.
However I wasn't the least happy. Simply cause I can't stand her!!!! She's a super airhead from Hainan Island China. Look! I've got nothing against china chicks. But she's way horrid. Everyone in our family is aware of her. She doesn't know when not to shoot off her stupid mouth, and 99% of the time she offends people whenever she opens her gap. Plus I couldn't stand the sight of her happily sleeping on my mil's bed. Which person in the right mind will go sleep in the owner's house on the owner's bed without permission. It's alright that her child is playing on the bed. But for her to lie down with the bedroom in full view of other relatives in the living room is what I'll call OBSCENE and RUDE!!
Thank god she only comes over during festive season. This year's CNY she already pissed my arse off when she spoke freaking rudely to my mil. Bloody airhead.

Back to Han Yin. She was such a sweetie pie!!!! We were all fussing over her the entire day. Her maternal grandmother was around too and she was a very nice and soft spoken lady. My very own queen came over for the celebrations too and we ended up at the shopping mall next to mil's house with the kids to do some shopping just to get away from the house for awhile, before I started murdering that airhead. Almighty queen bought new shoes for ds and sandals for dd. Nice.

Almighty king left for Germany last night for a full week. I wanna go!!!!! Boohoo!!!! *super.sulk*
Hope he brings back some tasty sausages....

28 Day.
